Where there is no purpose...

This is one of my favorite quotes and I was sitting here thinking about it. Where there is no purpose, abuse is inevitable. It applies to EVERY area of life. Where there is no purpose in your relationships with others, abuse is inevitable. You can abuse a relationship, thereby abusing yourself and others. Where there is no purpose for yourself , abuse is inevitable. You can abuse yourself. Where there is no purpose at your job, abuse is inevitable. You can abuse your job and your position at that job. Where there is no purpose..well you get the point. I want to challenge you to consider the purposes of EVERY aspect of your life. I just challenged myself to do the same.

Purpose is the reason for which something exists or is done, made, used....Abuse is to employ something for the wrong purpose.

When I first moved into my apartment there was a metal fixture in the tub. I did not know what it was. I assumed it was a bathtub stopper. So for a week, that's what I used it for. It worked fine in that capacity. Then one day I didn't have time to take a bath, so I decided to take a shower. I slid the shower curtain back and the shower rod almost fell. I looked and noticed one of the sides that was supposed to hold the shower rod in place was missing. I looked at the one that was there and it matched my "bathtub stopper"! I was abusing that metal fixture. LOL...even though it worked fine in that capacity.

That's what happens most of the time in life. I won't realize that I'm abusing something because it works fine in the capacity for which I have chosen to use it. But to prevent abuse, I should learn what the thing is before I employ it to some purpose.

I want to pray that you seek purpose in all areas of your life. I claim God's wisdom and discernment on your life to know and/or seek purpose relentlessly.
