Sermon notes "Ever Present Kingdom"

Ever Present Kingdom

Jan 22, 2017

Dr. Ed Newton

Matthew 6:10

Your kingdom come,
your will be done,[a]
on earth as it is in heaven.

Footnotes:

Matthew 6:10 Or Let your kingdom come, let your will be done

Target:

As followers of Jesus we live within two historical bookends such as "Jesus leaving his rule as king to dwell on earth" and "Jesus as our reigning king on this earth".  Therefore, there is more than a calling to embrace, but a command to embark upon, which is the advancement of this kingdom through our lives.
I. Declaration of Allegiance

"Your Kingdom Come"
Permission:

"Your" (To give over, place in the hands of)

Power:

"Kingdom" (Royal power, kingship, dominion or to rule or to reign)
Present:

"Come" (Sudden, Instantaneous, or Quickly)
II. Declaration of Allowance

"Your Will be Done"
Perfect:

"Will" (The desire, delight, or decree for man within the heart of God)
Pleasing:

"Done" (Completion, fulfillment, or satisfaction thereof)
III. Declaration of Assurance

"On Earth, as it is in Heaven"
Problem:

"as it is" vs. "as it is in" (A collision of kingdoms)

Possession:

"Earth" vs. "Heaven" (Permission creates possession)
Application:

Allow the Kingdom of God to Break In, there IS Breakthrough, creating Breakout.
